Overview of CPR Training - 2 hrs - (LISMORE)

The Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge that are necessary to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant following cardiac arrest. The course content is based on Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. 

This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This course is developed for existing workers in the industry who may require CPR training as recommended by the ARC.

The following units will be included in your certificate:

HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor. 

Pre-course study:   Students may be required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face to face session depending on the course delivery mode.

Online study:  Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

The recommended industry standard to maintain current competency is for this course to be refreshed every 12 months.

This course is delivered face-to-face over a 3 hour period commencing at 8.30am to 11.30am.  Please note: We also run this course during some evenings to suit the specific needs of some participants.

The total cost of this course is $78.00

On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Performance tasks and practical scenarios:

Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
Perform CPR on an infant
Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.  

Start Times

Our training room opens at 8:00am in preparation for a 8:30am start. Depending on the number of participants and also the course type, the approximate finish time is 11:30am. There will be scheduled break times throughout the day. Your trainer will advise you of these breaks at the commencement of your course.

Course Material

We will provide you with the required materials including pens, paper, assessment books and any other relevant material relating to your course.

Break Times, Lunch and Refreshments

Depending on the course duration, there are a number of food outlets located nearby. Morning and afternoon tea is available for participants, with a gold coin donation. Want to bring your lunch? No worries at all. We have a refrigerator and microwave should you require these facilities.

We are a non-smoking training centre however, should you choose to smoke, your trainer will advise of appropriate smoking areas.
